Meet the team behind EcoTree
Based in France, Denmark, and Germany, our diverse team of foresters, specialists, and innovators are dedicated to restoring European ecosystems, whilst driving real and tangibale climate action.

We believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment within our team and with our partners. Rather than focusing on shortcomings, we choose to uplift one another, sharing strengths and growing together through collective effort.
Nature is our teacher. Working to restore and protect it reminds us that we are part of something much greater. No matter how advanced our methods, we remain grounded in the understanding that nature leads the way; we follow with respect and care.
We are honoured by the trust our clients place in us. This trust drives our deep sense of responsibility. Every project we undertake is guided by integrity, transparency, and a commitment to delivering long-term value for both people and planet.

Forests planted and managed, wetlands restored, and biodiversity preserved.
Individuals across the globe have joined us in restoring European ecosystems.
Companies work with us to take meaningful action and meet their ESG goals.
We have commercial and expert field forestry operation across Europe.
Based in France, Denmark, and Germany, our diverse team of foresters, specialists, and innovators are dedicated to restoring European ecosystems, whilst driving real and tangibale climate action.

Most reforestation and afforestation projects stop once the sapling is in the ground. At EcoTree, we take responsibility for every tree throughout its entire life cycle. This means planting, nurturing, and sustainably managing it until it reaches maturity, decades sometimes centuries later. What’s unique is that you actually own your tree: it’s registered in your personal account, and you can follow its growth, location, and carbon impact over time.
When the tree reaches maturity, it’s harvested responsibly, and 100% of the proceeds go to you, the owner. The forest remains, as we continuously replant and care for it. This model combines real environmental impact with long-term transparency and engagement, turning tree ownership into a living investment in nature. Read about our mixed-species forestry with continuous cover here.
Buying a tree through EcoTree means contributing directly to the restoration and preservation of Europe’s forests. Each tree helps absorb CO₂, supports biodiversity, and protects water and soil health. But your impact doesn’t stop there; our foresters manage our forests with the principles of close-to-nature forestry, which avoids clear-cutting and promotes natural regeneration.
Your trees not only help increase Europe’s forest cover, but also help create habitats for birds, insects, and mammals, and help forests better adapt to climate change. It’s a small, personal step with long-lasting benefits, one that turns climate awareness into real, measurable action.
If you want to have a continuous positive impact on European forests, our
Every tree you own has a unique ID and GPS location in one of our forests in Denmark or France, and you can follow its progress through your EcoTree account. You’ll receive updates, photos, and stories from the forest so you can see your tree grow over time.
You’re also welcome to visit your tree in person. Many of our owners enjoy walking through “their” forest to reconnect with nature, see the biodiversity they’re helping protect, and witness sustainable forestry in action. Check out the opening times for each individual forest on their forest page.
When your tree reaches maturity, our foresters select it for responsible cutting. The timber is used for durable products like furniture or construction, and it continues to store carbon even after cutting. New trees are then planted in their place, ensuring the forest thrives for generations. It’s important for us to underline that we do not perform clear-cutting, but rather selective cutting that supports the health of the forest ecosystem. From planting to cutting, EcoTree takes care of every step while you stay connected to the positive change you’ve made.
EcoTree is made up of passionate people: foresters, biodiversity experts, and project developers, who believe that protecting nature must go hand in hand with transparency and care. Around one-third of our team works directly in the field, planting, measuring, and maintaining trees across all our forests in Europe. Meet the team behind our projects here.
We are present in every project we develop, from soil preparation to biodiversity monitoring. Our foresters visit each site regularly to ensure your trees are healthy and thriving. We also share detailed updates, footage, and an annual forestry report so you can see where your trees are, how they’re doing, and the positive impact they're having.
This hands-on approach ensures that every action we take from planting to project reporting is real, traceable, and carried out by people deeply committed to restoring ecosystems.
